Harry Edward Styles is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. He was one of the members of One Direction. The band is based in Holmes Chapel in Cheshire England Styles is the son of Des Styles & Anne Cox. Harry Styles attended the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive school, where along with three fellow students, he founded his own group of musicians, called White Eskimo. They won the Battle of Bands in 2009 with their amazing performances. The musician was always fascinated by music but also wanted to pursue a career as an attorney, physiotherapist or even scout. He was employed at a local bakery part-time to help his family financially. Harry Styles was selected for The X Factor 2010 audition in which he performed Stevie Wonder's song Is not She Lovely. This meant that his band needed to be disbanded. The audition was held on The X Factor the jury Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Harry Styles would be a part of a future band that would be dubbed One Direction along with Liam Payne Zayn Malik Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored five teenagers to join the group in 2010. The band of five was backed by Simon Cowell. They were the first to sing Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Suck without You along with Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart. They were one of the best contenders for the competition. However, they finished third, behind Rebecca Ferguson. Harry Styles did not receive an award, but Cowell made a deal worth 2 million pounds for One Direction in order for the group to join Syco Records.
