Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an author and philanthropist as well as a television host and the owner of the independent free online news publication The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she was able to move to England when she was 16 and graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first graduate non-UK to be elected the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Being a conservative syndicated blog, after graduating she became an influential voice for the Huffington Post. The fame of Arianna led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna first gained notoriety during 2003 when she volunteered in the California recall election in the place of Governor Davis. In addition, she was the leader of a Detroit project to promote the use of fuel-efficient cars. Forbes listed her as one of as one of the "most influential woman" within the field of media, placing her at 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most influential media people in 2009. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media group which included many at the time-current AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was born to Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli, who are both journalists and consultants in management. Though she was close to her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother which shaped her life. In her earliest years she displayed leadership qualities that remain highly respected. Her move to England came at sixteen to further her studies and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college, she joined Cambridge Union's debate societies in the college which she later became the first foreign female president. In 1972 she received an education in Economics. In the years following her graduation, she worked as a critic columnist and television host. She also appeared in an edition of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from him.
