Lynda Carter
Carter was born in Phoenix (Arizona) as the daughter of Juanita Cordova and Colby Carter. Her father is of English and has Scots Irish family as is her mother, who is Mexican and Spanish. A brother named Vincent and a sister, Pamela, are her siblings. Carter was five years old when she made her TV debut on the Lew Kings Talent Show. Carter was part of Just Us in high school. The group played conga drum and marimba. They also played an acoustic guitar as well as an upright bass which was played by a different band member. Lynda began singing at a local pizza restaurant at the age of 15. [8] She joined her cousins' group, The Relatives, when she was just 16 years old. The drummer of the group was Gary Burghoff, an actor. The band first performed in Las Vegas at the Sahara Hotel and Casino Lounge. Carter was 21 years old when she was seated in the kitchen. She was named "Most talented" and decided to get into the world of music. Carter was a candidate for an audition in 1970. She performed on the tour of The Garfin Gathering's bandleader Howard (Speedy), Garfin. Their first concert together was in the Holiday Inn Chinatown in San Francisco that was so brand new that it did not have a sidewalk entry. They performed mostly for hotel guests and staff, who parked their cars beneath. The Garfin Gathering performed shows throughout the Nevada "Silver Circuit" which included in a number casinos in Nevada. Carter quit the Garfin Gathering to pursue acting in 1972, and later was able to return to Arizona.
